EPhEU at the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva

The European Association of Employed Community Pharmacists in Europe (EPhEU), as a member organisation of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), proudly participated for the second consecutive year as a full FIP delegate at the World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva.

This year, EPhEU was represented by Secretary General Katarina Fehir Šola and Executive Board Member Katarina Kostandinović Milošević, who actively participated in a series of high-level meetings, professional discussions, and networking events alongside global healthcare leaders, international organisations, and healthcare professionals from around the world.

The World Health Assembly once again highlighted the growing importance of pharmacists within modern healthcare systems. Key discussions focused on strengthening primary healthcare, improving access to healthcare services, advancing digital health and artificial intelligence, patient safety, disease prevention, and building resilient healthcare systems for the future.

Throughout the meetings and discussions, EPhEU strongly advocated for the role of community pharmacists as accessible, trusted, and highly qualified healthcare professionals who play a crucial role in public health, patient counselling, prevention, chronic disease management, and healthcare sustainability.

Being present at the World Health Assembly as part of the FIP delegation represents an important recognition of the voice and contribution of community pharmacists at the global level. It also reinforces EPhEU’s ongoing commitment to international cooperation, professional advocacy, and strengthening the position of employed community pharmacists across Europe.

EPhEU is honoured to contribute to these global healthcare discussions and remains dedicated to shaping the future of pharmacy through collaboration, innovation, and professional leadership.

Together, we continue to demonstrate that pharmacists are not only medicine experts — but essential partners in building healthier communities worldwide.
