Exciting Developments in EPhEU: Welcoming New Leadership and Expanding Our Network
The EPhEU (European Association of Employed Community Pharmacists in Europe) has recently celebrated significant milestones at its General Assembly on 8-9 November, underscoring our commitment to advancing community pharmacy across Europe. With a clear mission of enhancing communication, fostering collaboration, and promoting professional growth, our organisation continues to grow in influence and reach.
New Leadership for EPhEU’s Next Chapter
At this year’s General Assembly, we proudly introduced our newly elected leadership team for the 2025-2028 mandate. Each individual brings dedication, experience, and a shared vision for supporting community pharmacists in delivering exceptional healthcare. The newly appointed team is as follows:
- President: Mark Koziol
- Vice President: Greta Torbegsen
- General Secretary: Katarina Fehir Šola
- Treasurer: Norbert Valecka
- Board Members: Andreas May, Phillipe Louqet, and Klaudusz Gajewski
This team is united by a vision to drive impactful changes across Europe, enhancing pharmacy practice, patient care, and health outcomes through focused collaboration and shared experiences.
For six years, I have had the privilege to serve as the President of EPhEU, working with dedicated colleagues to promote our main goal: advancing communication and cooperation among community pharmacists and their representative organisations across Europe, said Katarina Fehir Šola. I’m honoured to continue serving in a new capacity as General Secretary for the 2025-2028 mandate, where I look forward to furthering EPhEU’s mission alongside our newly elected leadership, she said.
Welcoming New Members to EPhEU
Our commitment to expanding the voice of community pharmacists was also highlighted by welcoming two new member organisations at this year’s General Assembly:
- Sindicatul National a Farmacistilor din Romania (SNFR) – Romania
- Irish Association of Employed Pharmacists – Ireland
We are excited to strengthen our European network by adding these respected organisations. Their membership brings fresh perspectives and reinforces our commitment to empowering community pharmacists as essential healthcare providers. With these new additions, EPhEU grows stronger, offering an expanded platform for sharing best practices, addressing shared challenges, and advancing the profession collectively.
Moving Forward: Our Mission and Goals
EPhEU’s mission extends beyond supporting our members; it focuses on creating positive health outcomes for our communities. Through this growing network, we aim to advance pharmacy education, improve healthcare access, enhance pharmaceutical care, and promote population health and wellness. These goals will continue to drive our initiatives as we work alongside our new members and leadership team.
Together, we are committed to building a future in which community pharmacists play an increasingly central role in healthcare systems across Europe, providing essential services that support our populations' health and well-being.
Thank you to all our members, partners, and supporters for your unwavering commitment. As we look toward this new chapter, we remain focused on fostering a collaborative, impactful, and vibrant community for pharmacists across Europe.
